Ofqual Regulated Course
The course is for people who have contact with children, young people and vulnerable adults. The principle of Safeguarding is to protect children, young people and vulnerable adults. It acknowledges and promotes awareness and sensitivity enabling the delegates to recognise issues and ensure that concerns are reported and acted on correctly.
The course will be based on classroom shared case scenarios, also provides example of different forms of abuse; the role of the statutory agencies; good practice and procedures; your role and best practice documents.
Upon completion of this course you will be able to recognised different types of abuse and to understand where they may occur, be able to respond appropriately to alleged or suspected abuse along the nationally and locally recognised safeguarding guidelines, and to understand the appropriate way to reduce the likelihood of abuse.

How to recognise signs of abuse/neglect
How to respond – recording and reporting
Ways to reduce the likelihood of abuse
Roles and responsibilities
Sharing of information
Dealing with and report of allegations and complaints
Be aware that abuse, neglect and exploitation may occur anywhere and by anyone, quite often from a person of trust.
